We listen for the wisdom in our family histories,
And the many cultures and communities we belong to.
We give thanks for the traditions that ground us,
And the new paths we are creating together.
May we carry our heritage with respect and love,
And make choices that honor those who came before us.

As we extinguish this chalice, we remember that our stories continue.
May we speak of our ancestors with kindness,
Learn from the past with courage,
And pass on wisdom to those who come after us.
Even as the year grows darker,
May the light of our heritage guide our way.
